“Data is at the forefront of everything we do these days”, the provost remarked. He iterated that data must be the driving force behind all desired actions, from sales and marketing, to health and economic management. The provost stated that in a world where everyone has an opinion, those who back theirs with data are sure to capture the attention of the relevant stakeholders.
Learning materials and assessments were posted on the University's Learning Management System (VClass). The course's participants were urged to use both the live lectures and the lecture videos and slides to learn at their convenience and in real-time. There was always a support team available to assist with platform access issues. Program facilitators included Prof. John Eudes Andivi Bakang, Dr. Enoch Kwame Tham-Agyekum, Dr.Seth Etuah and Dr. Bright Owusu Asante, all resource persons from the college. At the completion of the entirely online course, certificates were given out.
In his closing remarks for the course, the Provost of CANR urged the attendees to spread the word about KNUST's online programs, which will provide relief to many people who have been longing to become proficient in particular fields. He reiterated the university's continued dedication to being innovative in its response to the public's shifting educational demands. In this regard, more departments and colleges are invited to join forces with KNUST E Learning Centre to roll out more of the University’s programs online. The University is able to reach a wider audience or group of students with the online learning mode.
